With over 40 years of experience in hospitality, education management, and institutional leadership, I have built a career dedicated to academic transformation, operational excellence, and global exposure for students.

My career began in Food & Beverage Services, where I gained expertise in service operations, customer engagement, and revenue optimization. I advanced into management roles in manpower training, sales optimization, and organizational development, before transitioning into higher education leadership. As Chief Executive Officer and Principal of the Metropolitan Group of Institutions (Mumbai, Pune, Goa), I directed multi-campus operations, enhancing academic quality, faculty training, and institutional growth.

In September 2010, I was appointed Principal & Campus Head of the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Bengaluru (a 600-bed residential institute with 100 faculty and administrative staff). At a time when the institution was on the verge of closure, I conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis, implemented strategic reforms, stabilized operations, and successfully repositioned the institute. Under my leadership, the institute achieved and continues to maintain recognition among the top three private hospitality institutions in India.

Notable Achievements

  • Guiding graduates to consistently secure top academic honors, including Gold Medals at Bangalore University and Bengaluru North University.
  • Pioneering overseas internships for 5th and 6th semester students, facilitating placements in leading hospitality establishments in the USA, France, and New Zealand, thereby enhancing international exposure.
  • Leading a diverse student body from across India — encompassing varied ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds — and empowering them with soft skills, life skills, and employability skills.
  • Receiving a prestigious Commendation Card from the Army Commander-in-Chief, Southern Command (2016) for excellence in institutional leadership and student development.
